That Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world is something you probably already know.
That the United States is going to be a bilingual country in 10 years is something you probably didn’t know but you knew it was coming sooner or later.
That Spanish is a difficult language to learn is something you must already know, and if you don’t know it is because you haven’t started to study it in depth.
After more than 100 successfull students who achived their goals of being integrated in the spanish community, and to travel and live in Spain, I have decided to open new spots and start helping again to more students to get their dream of speaking a new language.
The reason why you want to study Spanish it is up to you.
But if you’re here, it’s clear that you want to do it.
And I am here for two things:
1 – To tell you the truth about learning Spanish
2 – To help you to get you to speak it.
Well, about the first part, I’m going to tell you some truths.
If you are reading this because you woke up this morning and you were bored and decided that it would be a good idea to learn Spanish, this is not your place.
Learning Spanish is a long-term project and requires perseverance. If the only time you are going to dedicate to learning Spanish is class time, this is not your place.
If you think that learning Spanish is that easy as playing with Duolingo, this is not your place.
If I have seemed very hard for you it is for two reasons, firstly because I don’t like to waste time and secondly because I don’t like to make others waste their time.
Due to several students who wasted my time because they didn’t take the Spanish classes seriously, I was not very convinced to take on new students.
I only want students in my classes who are really committed to their goal of learning Spanish. Because if i commit myself to teach you spanish, i will demand your commitment to learn it.
But after seeing how many of my students live happily in Spain communicating in Spanish by themselves, I decided to focus on those students who every day dedicate a part of their time to work hard to achieve their goal.
So I’m going to keep telling you truths:
If you really want to speak Spanish fluently and are willing to put in the effort to get there, this is your place.
If you are willing to dedicate at least 30 minutes a day, every day, to study and practice Spanish and you need a teacher to teach you and guide you along the way, this is your place.
If you already know several words in Spanish but you are not able to build sentences or to have a fluent conversation, this is your place.
If you want to live in Spain and enjoy our country and our culture by integrating into it or if you want to tell your neighbour to stop making noise and make sure he/she understands you or ask your Spanish friend to tell you how to cook chickpea stew, this is your place.
If you have tried other systems to learn Spanish such as:
- following languages apps
- watching videos on youtube
- automated courses
- taking Spanish classes that had a lot of grammar and not much practice.
And it hasn’t worked for you. This is your place.
If you haven’t left and you’re still reading this, congratulations, you’re not one of those people who are just looking for free resources to waste their time.
Well, about how to help you achieve your goal, let me tell you what my classes are like and what my method is:
– In all the classes we will dedicate a part of the lesson to conversation. At the beginning it will be short but as we learn more grammar and more vocabulary we will practice more and more. Grammar without practice doesn’t work and practice without grammar doesn’t work either.
My main objective is that you SPEAK Spanish, that you communicate and that you can enjoy the advantages of our wonderful language.
– We will do grammar exercises, writing, listening, reading-resume and, of course, conversation. In other words, we will study all the skills we need to understand a language.
– We will enjoy learning spanish. Forget about that boring teachers who just explain the grammar rules and give you fill in the blank exercises.
– Apart from grammar you will learn many things about our history, our culture and about how we Spanish people think.
– After each lesson homework will be sent out and will be corrected in the next class.
